A Child Who Dreams of Becoming an IAS Officer
Akshara Singh is only 13 years old. She should be preparing for her school exams, talking about her future, and dreaming freely. Instead, she lies in pain, fighting a disease no child should ever face.
Akshara was first taken to the hospital when she complained of severe stomach pain. The pain kept increasing, becoming unbearable. Tests and scans followed. What doctors discovered shattered her family.
Akshara has been diagnosed with Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas, a rare pancreatic tumor. The tumor has grown rapidly and spread from the pancreas towards the liver. Doctors have clearly said that urgent surgery is required within days to save her life.
Just one year ago, Akshara lost her father. The man who protected her, supported her dreams, and stood beside the family is no longer here.
Now, when she cries in pain, it is her mother who sits beside her hospital bed, helpless yet unbreakable.
Her mother speaks with trembling strength. She works a private job and is the only earning member of the family. There has been no time to recover from grief. Life moved straight from loss to survival.
“I have already lost my husband. I cannot lose my daughter,” she says.
Akshara lives in constant pain. She suffers from severe stomach pain, continuous vomiting, and weakness. She cannot eat properly. Sometimes the pain only reduces after injections are given.
She is exhausted. But she does not complain.
Her school exams begin on 17 February. Despite everything, Akshara talks about studying. She talks about becoming an IAS officer. She asks only one thing.
“Mujhe school jana hai. Mujhe padhna hai.”
Doctors have advised a major pancreatic surgery known as the Whipple procedure. This surgery is complex and time sensitive. Any delay increases the risk to Akshara’s life.
The family has no savings. No insurance. No relatives who can help. Every day of delay brings more pain and more danger.
Her mother has reached a point where all she can do is pray for help.
This is not just a medical case.
This is a child asking for a chance to live.
This is a mother begging for her daughter’s life.
